Are you looking to improve the way you work with and influence the new Government?
‘A Day in the Life’ is NCVO’s unique work shadowing scheme which gives you the chance to step into the shoes of a civil servant for the day and see how the ‘other side’ operates. Lots of government departments are involved in the scheme this year, including DCLG, Defra, Home Office and the Ministry of Justice.
The shadowing scheme will give you a rare opportunity to gain a first-hand impression of the civil service and how it works, as well as a chance to feed in the importance of the work that your organisation is doing in a return visit to your workplace.
After completing a short application form outlining the work that you do and what you'd like to gain from participating in the scheme, successful applicants will be paired up with a civil servant from government. All shadowing visits will take place during September 2010.
Travel bursaries of up to £100 are available for applicants from small organisations based outside of London.
For more information on the scheme and to apply online please visit www.ncvo-vol.org.uk/workshadowing.
