We are an innovative advocacy project who work with people with a learning disability and/or Autism.
We have the following exciting opportunities to develop Advocacy and Self Advocacy projects.
Bromley Person Centred Planning (PCP) Co ordinator (REF: PCP)
£25,440 incl OLW 35 hours & 6% pension contribution
We need someone who is organised, energetic and thinks that people with a learning disability should have a role in planning for their future. This is an opportunity to co ordinate PCP across Bromley and raise awareness of its importance
Bromley Primary Care Trust Advocacy Co ordinator (REF: BRPCT)£25,440 incl OLW pro rata 21 hours per week & 6% pension contribution
This is a role for someone who understands how difficult it is for some people to have to make major changes in their lives. The co ordinator will work with volunteers to make sure people have the opportunity to have a real say in decisions about their future
Healthy Lifestyles Worker (REF:HL)
£23,103 pro rata 25 hours per week & 6% pension contribution
A new initiative to support people with a learning disability in Bromley to promote a healthier lifestyle across 6 London boroughs. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with the skills to develop the project and highlight the issues people face in their day to day lives.
Bromley Self Advocacy Supporter (REF: BRSA)
£25,440 incl OLW pro rata 14 hours per week & 6% pension contribution
(this post is initially funded for 6 months – funding is being sought to continue the project)
Could you support people with a learning difficulty in Bromley to develop the Bromley Speaking Up Group? Do you understand the importance of people learning to speak up for themselves? A good understanding of the principles of self advocacy is essential
Volunteer Co ordinator (REF: VC)
£23,103 incl OLW pro rata10 hours per week & 6% pension contribution
(this post is initially funded for 6 months)
This is a varied and interesting opportunity to support and monitor volunteers in their 1:1 advocacy work. To promote advocacy and support the co ordinators in their advocacy work

BROMLEY MENCAP
Bromley Mencap is a voluntary organisation providing a range of services and support for people with learning disabilities, their families and carers.
Brokerage Co-ordinator (Full-time) Salary £23,000 - £25,300 + 5% pension .
You will set up and co-ordinate a new brokerage service with the support of sessional staff and volunteers. The brokerage service will offer information, support and a drop-in facility for people with learning disabilities, who are not eligible for Council services, to enable them to have choice and control in their lives.
Employment Consultants (Full-time x3) Salary £20,000 to £23,000 + 5% pension
Our successful Jobmatch training and employment scheme requires three new Employment Consultants to provide support for people with learning disabilities to gain jobs in mainstream employment. One of these will focus on supporting young people aged 14 to 19 who are not in education, employment or training. A third Employment Consultant, initially a 5-month contract, will work with people with autism to support them into jobs. Job share will be considered for these 3 roles.
For all posts you will be a highly motivated team player and a self starter with the ability to communicate to a wide range of individuals and groups, including people with learning disabilities. You will need sound IT skills, a person centred approach and some knowledge of social care policy and benefits along with the ability to work with agencies and employers.
All contracts, unless stated, are for one year initially and will be extended subject to continued funding.

MindCare at Bromley Mind provides services for people with dementia and their carers living in the London Borough of Bromley.
Domiciliary Care Workers
Salary: up to £9.33 per hour
Hours: Variable
MindCare provides personal care for people with dementia in their own homes, across the Borough of Bromley. Work will be offered in sessions of 7am – midday, midday to 5pm and 5pm to 11pm and will include weekends. Applicants must have successfully completed NVQ2 in Health & Social Care, have a full clean driving licence and use of a car. Interview dates: 9th and 14th October 2008
Sitting Staff
Salary: up to £7.73 per hour
Hours: Variable
Caring and empathetic staff are required to provide a ‘sitting’ service to enable carer’s to take a break from their role. Sits are for a minimum of 2 hours and are provided between 7am and 11pm but occasional overnight sits may be required. Interview dates: 9th and 14th October 2008
Bank Day Centre Worker
Salary: up to £7.73 per hour
Hours: Variable (Monday to Saturday)
The successful candidate will work as part of a team providing stimulating activities, refreshments and personal care for service users, as well as accompanying them on the minibus to and from the centres. Experience of working with groups of clients with dementia and/or learning disabilities is desirable. Empathy and commitment are essential. Interview date: 23rd October 2008
