Partnership and Representation

What we do

Part of our role is to develop and support partnership working between the statutory and voluntary sector.

We work to develop the capacity of the voluntary sector so that organisations can participate effectively and to promote formal and informal partnerships between voluntary groups.

Why we do it

This is because partnership working is really important. This is from the Audit Commission:

"Partnership working is a potentially powerful tool for tackling difficult policy and operational problems that local agencies face. It can also be a productive way achieving more efficient and effective use of scarce resources.

The development of partnership working is generally to be welcomed. The quality and cost effectiveness of services can be significantly improved when organisations work well together. Service users recognise this.

The expansion of partnership working has also provided a means of ensuring that local agencies? work benefits from the expertise and ideas of the private and voluntary sectors."
