Advice giving organisations
Bromley Advice Network - Supporting local advice services
Do you provide an advice service for local people? Looking for information, training or funding to develop your services?
Yes? Then Bromley Advice Network may be for you.
Bromley Advice Network (BAN) is a network of advice services in Bromley. Members are from local charitable, voluntary or community organisations and are all working to provide advice to local people on a wide variety of issues.
BAN can help you:
- Access information or training for your advice workers
- Find funding for your advice service
- Meet with other advice providers locally, to find out about new opportunities and best practices in developing your service
Current members include Bromley Advocacy Alliance, Outmates, Deaf Access and London Magistrates Support and Information Service.
"As a small organisation you can become isolated. Meetings like BAN are useful for fresh ideas, new avenues and sharing experience with other advice services." (Susan Craney, Deaf Access and a BAN member)
Recent meetings have covered:
- Sources of funding for advice work
- Providing advice on housing
- Working with the Primary Care Trust mental health team
BAN is currently organising training on providing benefits advice. Details of next meeting will be displayed here when available. Alternatively, please contact the BAN co-ordinator Sandy Greenfield at Outmates: telephone (020) 8315 2520 or email: outmates@outmates.org.uk.
