Small grants and latest news for Bromley

Grassroots Grants – Bromley
Capital Community Foundation is delighted to announce Grassroots Grants Bromley, a three year fund targeted at small community organisations in the borough. Grassroots Grants aim to help build thriving local communities, bring people from different backgrounds together and empower them to achieve change in communities.
The small grants fund is now open for applications, and you can download an application form and guidelines from their website www.capitalcf.org.uk/grants.

Grants of up to £5,000 will be available for community groups, charities, community interest companies and social enterprises meeting the following criteria:

Groups meeting one of the 4 main aims of the fund: strengthening communities; bringing people from different backgrounds together; responding to local need; strengthening organisational capacity and ability Please read the fund guidelines for full details and exclusions.

The deadline for the second round of applications in 2008 will be at 5pm on the following dates: 7 November 2008 Applicants will be notified of the decision within three and a half weeks of the closing date.

Community Links Bromley runs a Funding Information & Advice Service. Supported by City Bridge Trust, the service offers support, advice, information, access to a mentoring scheme for priority groups and an events programme.

Good practice guides and resources

NCVO Sustainable Funding

This project aims to provide a first-stop shop encouraging and enabling voluntary and community organisations to explore and exploit a full range of funding and financing options to develop a sustainable funding mix. Community Links Bromley is 3 members of Staff attended the train the trainer workshops, in order to help a cascade programme to our local sector. Using the information and links to resources from the training, Julie has created a comprehensive guide to how to start this process.
