Volunteering Good Practice
Adopting good practices in managing your volunteers is essential to ensure that you retain their services for as long as possible, recruit the volunteers that you need and provide the best possible service to your organisation’s users.
Volunteer Centre staff can discuss any particular difficulties you may have or point you in the most appropriate direction to find out further information.
Our Volunteering Good Practice Advisor, Hilary Bell, can support you with your organisation’s volunteering priorities.
To find out more contact us on 020 8315 1905.

Volunteer Management Charter
You can demonstrate your commitment to good volunteer management by signing up to the London Volunteer Management Charter. The Charter clearly sets out the principles of good volunteer management and has been developed by Greater London Volunteering. The Volunteer Centre Bromley has signed up and is part of a project to help promote it.
Your organisation can sign up to the Charter.. but why?
- it signals to your volunteers, colleagues, funders and stakeholders that you’re serious about implementing good practice.
- it demonstrates your commitment to volunteering which will help with recruitment and retention.
- organisations who sign up to the Charter have the opportunity to work with the Volunteer Centre Bromley on the ‘Healthcheck’
- a growing number of Volunteer Involving Organisations are signing up so you’ll become part of a wider pan-London community of volunteering experts!
You can read the Charter and sign up to it at: www.expertsinvolunteering.org.uk
