About Learning Disability Awareness Week 2022 - Mon 20th June to Fri 24th June

Learning Disability Awareness week is about telling people what life is like with a learning disability. The event is commissioned by the NHS South East London CCG and has been coordinated and will be delivered by partner organisations Advocacy in Greenwich, Advocacy for All and Lewisham Speaking up.

The week of activities has been planned by people with learning disabilities and autism. We decided to have a mix of fun and serious sessions. The sessions are accessible for all: people with learning disabilities, parent/carers, friends, and professionals. The Awareness week is important because it gives people with learning disabilities a chance to:

  • Have their voices heard
  • Speak up and learn about subjects that are important to them
  • Educate others and raise awareness
  • Help to end discrimination

Download the flyer for information on the week of activites and the programme for details of the individual activites.
