Bromley Arts Trust

This unique building built in 1899 was traditionally a family home to the Whyte family; all gifted musicians in 1925 the family acquired the services of architect Evelyn Hellicar to build the Music room for the four daughters. Many musicians have since played at Ripley including David Bowie, the Chilingirian Quartet and even Elgar. Today we welcome musicians and music students to perform in this very room. We also hire our premises for art exhibitions, art classes, weddings and private functions as well as educational and leisure activities.

Bromley Voluntary Sector Trust

Community House is a vibrant resource centre for the community and voluntary sector in the London Borough of Bromley. Situated in the old Magistrates Court building close to Bromley town centre, we set high standards of accessibility and professionalism for the benefit of all our users and service providers alike.

We are also a home to 14 voluntary and community organisations, delivering a wide range of services and support to residents of the borough of Bromley. Many more community groups hire our facilities to hold meetings and events throughout the year.

Christ Church Orpington

The halls at Christ Church Orpington provide purpose-built, modern facilities which were opened in March 2007. Enquiries are welcome for the use of the halls as venues for community and private activities.

Description: Christ Church Orpington has two halls which, when combined, can accommodate up to 180 people (without social distancing regulations), a commercial standard kitchen, a lounge/cafe area with seating, tables and facilities for making hot and cold drinks, one small room on the lower ground floor suitable for interviews, workshops, prayer and counselling.

Facilities: Fully operational kitchen, Wifi and AV equipment in the halls chairs, tables, retractable screen and plenty of parking on the premises and on surrounding roads. There are toilet facilities and a lift.

Orpington Village Hall Trust

The site was reopened in 2010, after a two year regeneration project, and the halls can now be found on the first floor of a beautifully refurbished commercial and residential complex. The halls are a community facility for use by local people and businesses; they are managed by a charitable trust and all income from hiring out the halls goes towards managing and maintaining them. At the moment we do still have some restrictions as to functions we can accept and numbers we can accommodate due to COVID 19.

Type of space/s available: Our venue comprises of two spacious halls, a conference room and a private office space. We host a full timetable of weekly activities, ranging from art classes to Ballroom Dance classes, from mum and baby yoga classes to karate classes. We also welcome one off events such as baby showers, Childrens birthday parties and corporate functions.

Description: Both our large and small halls are fit with beautiful Ash wooden sprung flooring. Please visit our website for more information including hall dimensions, capacities and classes held here at OVH. 

Available facilities: WIFI, toilet facilities including a disabled toilet and baby changing space, shared preparation only kitchen, sound system, projector and screen, air-conditioning and heating for year round comfort.

Accessibility information: Our halls are fully wheelchair accessible. We are located on the second floor and accessible via stairs and a lift. Orpington Village Hall is located at the southern end of Orpington High Street, just by the War Memorial roundabout and a short walk from Orpington train station. The area is serviced well by trains to central London, local buses and good road links. There are a number of nearby car parks and the halls have public loading bays in front of the premises, so you and your suppliers will have easy access when loading and unloading.

Hire cost: Hire rates depend on whether you are wishing to book on a regular basis or as a one off event. Hire rates also depend on the space wishing to be hired. Rates start from £12 per hour for our private office/ conference room through to £75 per hour for our large hall. Play Place (Penge Community Hub)

The Building is owned by Clarion Housing Association and managed by Play Place. Play Place want to work with local residents to develop a range of new community opportunities and activities. Our model is to generate income through social enterprise methods (Hires, grants or other fundraising) and offer free community activities using surpluses that are achieved.

Play Place is developing a residents support group to work with them. The resident group will support local mapping and oversee the development of the programme.

St Mary's Church Centre

The Centre offers spaces for hire that cater for receptions, parties, meetings, conferences and other events. The spaces can be hired for private functions on Saturdays, and on Sundays from 12 noon subject to availability. There is also some availability for weekday afternoon use.
