An Introduction to Impact and Evaluation

Thursday 15 September 2022

Evaluation word

A short introduction on drafting an impact and evaluation report to help you showcase the work that you do to members and funders.

This short 2-2.5 hour session will provide you with the tools you need to help you demonstrate the difference you make through impact measurement and evaluation of your work. It is increasingly important for voluntary organisations to show commissioners, funders and other audiences the positive impact that their support and services has on beneficiaries. Not only is this often needed during a project to trigger a further installment, but can help build a compelling case of your work for future funding applications too. The session will cover such elements as:

  • Why report on your impact?
  • How to write an evaluation report
  • Planning
  • Depth of information required
  • Sensitivity and complexity of the issues
  • Time and skills required
  • Ease of collection and analysis
  • Quantitative versus Qualitative
  • Writing the report
