World Book Day Costume Making

World Book Day Costume Making - The Hub From Greener and Cleaner

Saturday 02 March 2024
14:00 to 16:00

World Book Day is fast approaching and is an event where many schools encourage children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. This often causes busy parents a last minute dash to online shopping to buy a costume that is normally made from plastic and is not planet friendly.

Following the success of their Halloween Costume workshop where they provided materials and advice on making your own costume Greener & Cleaner are repeating this for World Book Day.

This is a workshop where you can work with your child to make a costume using fabric resources at the Hub and with helpful advice from their team. If you already have items of clothing that could be upcycled and accessories for your character, please bring them with you.

Please let them know what character you are thinking about so that they can gather suitable fabrics or other items ready for the workshop.

Sewing machines will be available to use by adults/carers during this workshop but it is not a sewing machine teaching session. They don't expect you to be an expert, they can help solve problems with the machines if needed but you do need to have some previous experience.

This workshop is kindly subsidised by Trust Payments. All materials are provided and there will be an instructor and assistant to provide advice. There is a small charge of £5 for this workshop to help us continue our vital work.
