Released in 1995, Bill Bryson’s travelogue about his journeys the length and breadth of the British Isles went on to sell 2 million copies and spend three years on bestseller lists. Premiered in 2023, Tim Whitnall’s adaptation takes Bryson’s adventures from Calais to Scotland asking just what it is about this sceptred isle that makes Britain so great.
