The Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust (EKCT) was founded in 1963 to create a formal structure for Ernest and Joan Kleinworts’ philanthropic interests.

In awarding grants, the EKCT tends to be very focused on the direct conservation of endangered flora and fauna, which is scientific and scalable, rather than other areas such as community gardens, climate change etc
