Saturday May 2nd

The Downe May Queen Procession

Starting from Mill Lane at 1:10pm,
making it’s way down into North End Lane, turning left into the High Street,
and stopping in the village for a short service in Queen Mary’s church at 1:40pm.

Then follows the crowning of

Dorothy Spicer

as May Queen of 2026

Please join them for traditional dancing and a tea party in Downe village hall, with a look back at the history of May Day in the village & beyond!

The children would love to show what they have been rehearsing, and They’d love to see you there.

The event will also be fundraising for two charities on the day: The MayPole Project & Cancer Research UK
