The We Are Big Local campaign marks the culmination of Big Local – an extraordinary funding programme that granted £1m to 150 areas across England. In terms of scale, duration and ethos, nothing like Big Local had previously existed.
March 2026 marks the formal conclusion of the programme, and We Are Big Local is the final celebratory moment of this groundbreaking national initiative that has put power in the hands of residents to make lasting change in their communities.
This campaign, which launched on 30th March and will run for two weeks, shines the spotlight on local residents who made the programme happen, celebrating their achievements.
It also offers a chance to reflect on lessons learned and the future of community-led neighbourhood renewal, highlighting the benefits of resident-led, long-term funding.
Explore the stories, insights and achievements of communities that have shaped their own areas over the course of the programme on the Local Trust website.
Community Links Bromley was the Locally Trust organisation for the Big Local project in Mottingham, Mottingham Big Local Refocused (MBLR), which began in 2013. We are proud to have supported Mottingham on its journey, and we extend our thanks to the residents, volunteers, providers and stakeholders who have joined us on this journey.
