We were saddened to hear the news that Pat Spence passed away in early December 2023. She had many years of involvement with the voluntary sector in Bromley including as the Honorary Vice President of CLB.

She first volunteered in the early 1970s at Bromley Council for Voluntary Service, which later became Community Links Bromley. During that time, she was responsible for working across the voluntary sector, setting up and delivering services years ahead of others, including food and furniture donation projects, wonderful toy projects at Christmas and a successful charity shop in Penge. Thousands of volunteers and beneficiaries alike gained from all those services that she helped to set up and deliver for so long.

She was a trustee of Community Links Bromley for many years, much of that as Vice Chair, until she retired in 2005. The Trustees were delighted to appoint her as the Honorary Vice President. In all that time whenever the opportunity arose at the AGM, celebrating volunteers, and so much more, Pat was always there to support and encourage.

She was widely admired and respected throughout the voluntary sector in Bromley through her years of selfless contribution. There is so much to remember her for and we will miss her greatly.
