This week we have been taking a moment to reflect and celebrate the life of one of our Trustees Paul Cosgrave who passed away on 23 September.
Paul had a wonderful send off on Tuesday 20 October with so many people from his wide circle of friends attending the requiem mass to pay their last respects.
Paul lived a rich and varied life much of which was spent in the service of our many communities in Bromley. An active member of his local church, he served on the Church Council and was the Safeguarding Lead. He also spent many years devoted to the Scouting movement in both Bromley and Bexley where his friendship, leadership, encouragement and commitment touched many lives. His roles included being a Group Scout Leader in Petts Wood, District Commissioner for Chislehurst, Deputy District Commissioner for Adult Support and a Deputy County Commissioner for the Borough of Bromley. This year, in recognition of his service, Paul was awarded the highest award for service in Scouting the Silver Wolf Award for outstanding service.
A long serving and active Trustee of the CLB Board and formerly a trustee for the Bromley Children and Families Voluntary Sector Forum, Paul was also a very keen golfer and played football for over thirty years at a good standard. A long suffering Crystal Palace supporter, he got his wish and made it to Leipzig to see Palace lift the trophy.
Those wishing to donate in Paul’s memory are invited to support either of the following:
Our condolences go to the whole of Paul’s family, particularly his wife Jackie, their two sons Stuart & Stephen and his twin brother Philip.
