Volunteers’ Week is an annual event, now entering its 39th year. Volunteers' Week sees charities, voluntary groups, organisations, and volunteers themselves come together to recognise the incredible impact that volunteering has in communities around the UK.
The theme for this year – ‘Celebrate and Inspire’ – aims to highlight that our diversity is our strength, show that there is more than one way to volunteer and encourage people to be the change that we want to see. Volunteers are always active at the heart of every UK community, so taking the time during Volunteers’ Week to celebrate and recognise their efforts and all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector and society as a whole has never been more important.

We also asked local charities and groups to share their messages of appreciation for their volunteers.
Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind
"To Bernard and Rory. The help you provide with your Tribunal representation and other benefits support, is very much appreciated and, without it we would be unable to reach so many people with mental health problems in the borough of Bromley. Thank you very much. Dave Feast"
Bromley Homeless Charity
"To all our brilliant volunteers, we thank you all for your time and dedication to the charity and the clients."
Bromley Hygiene Bank
"A huge thank you to our Bromley Hygiene Bank Grassroots Project Volunteer team. They all dedicate their time and energy on the project to support many local organisations with hygiene and household cleaning products for their service users. We cannot thank them enough for the impact they have made on the community!"
"A huge thank you to the volunteers we have recruited in the area – on behalf of my organization Volunteering Matters. While I provide the Hounslow Allies service for children in care with Hounslow, some children are places outside the Borough in the Bromley and Bexley areas. Over the past year, I have recruited several volunteers willing to travel significant distances to befriend children in Foster Care. They are truly fantastic and are making a huge difference to the lives of the young people they befriend."
St John Ambulance
"Thank you to all St John Ambulance volunteers from across Bromley who step forward to deliver first aid at events and provide first aid training across Bromley and beyond throughout the year."
"Dear Volunteers at Careplus, you really are the best. We simply cannot help but be incredibly impressed. Your time, your care, your strength and smiles can lift the greyest day, so we are sending HUGE thanks – far more than we can say!"
